Investing and Facebook

WEB class,

Do the terms invest and save mean the same thing?  Is there a difference?

Facebook is launching an IPO today.  What does that mean and who will it affect?

Please research and post your thoughts.

  4. Invest Is When You Give Money To A Cause , But Save Is When You Keep Money For Something In The Future .

  5. Invest means to buy something so you can make a profit. While save means to keep your money instead of using it.Facebook is going to be selling shares for the first time and it will affect Facebook and the people who buy shares from them.

  6. invest means to put money into something you think you can make a profit off of and save means to watch how you spend your money or to not spend it at all. anyone will be able to buy shares of the facebook company on an open stock exchange. it will effect the future of Facebook, its users, its competitors, and the greater economy.

  7. To invest and save are similar but not the same. to invest is to contribute money to make money, like you make investments in a stock company. When you save you're saving towards something; it's building up. like you can save for college. Facebook's decision to sell stock to the public for the first time will affect everyone.
