Email Addresses - Yea or Nay

All,

We are thinking about assigning all middle school students an email address next year as an additional tool for students and teachers to use as communication method.  What do you think are the benefits and possible implications that this might have?  Would you email your instructor if you were provided an email address?  Should it be a Gaggle address or a sd170.com address?

 Excludable: Your consumption can't be limited

*Rival: Your consumption of a good or service limits the consumption of others

 Externality: Cost or benefit not transmitted through prices associated with an action.

Fortune 500 CEOs

All,

Research a CEO from one of the Fortune 500 companies. List the name of the CEO and the company that they work for. What type of education does he or she have? What is their approximate salary? How long have they held that position? What is their highest level of education?

ISAT ISAT ISAT

ISAT Tests....What Do You Think....

OK so now that ISAT testing is over let's see if live in school gets back to normal. This week I want to hear your thoughts on standardized testing and it's effect on education. Tell me what you think about the ISAT process and how it affects you, your teacher, and our school district. Your response could be a thought you already had or could be a response to any of the following topics:
  1. Talk about the testing process...(Timeline..silence in the halls...anyhthing related to testing)
  2. What preparation did you go through for the tests...
  3. Is/should your teacher be held accountable for the results of your test?
  4. Is it fair to be assessed on a single test given once a year?
  5. Do some students do better on tests than others?
  6. Should testing be at the state level or the federal?
Your response does not have to be to any of the above questions - these are only suggestions to get your noggins cooking. Responses must be a paragraph of at least 5 sentences.
